Chris and I got up and left our hotel about 5am to walk a half mile to LP field to catch the shuttle to the start line. At this point it was raining pretty good and continued to rain until right at 7am when the race started. Chris started the race right about 7am, while my start corral didn't start until almost 8am! I had to use the porta potties a couple times before the race even started for me! There were about 30,000 people in both the marathon and halfmarathon. Definitely the largest race we have been to.

Chris ran his best marathon time in 3 hours 12 minutes (26.2 miles)! He did awesome and recovered very quickly this time too. The only bummer was that he was only 2 minutes from qualifying for the boston marathon! Guess that will just make him do another :)
Despite having bronchitis, I decided to go ahead and walk the half marathon. After we got started though I decided jogging felt just as good, so I did a combined run-walk and ended up running about half the race. I finished the half marathon (13.1 miles) in 2 hours 50 minutes. Mom, Chris and the boys were expecting me to finish after 3 and a half hours so they didn't see me finish, but heard from Joyce on the phone that I was already done, through the live results on the website!
The rest of the weekend we did some shopping, eating out, sight-seeing and walking around nashville (and recovering)!
