1. egg nog or hot chocolate?
hot chocolate, no question.
2. does santa wrap presents or just put them under the tree?
santa fills stockings and leaves a few presents out.
presents from mom and dad are wrapped.
3. colored lights on tree/house or white?
all white.
except for the colored lights on the tree in the boys' room.
4. do you hang mistletoe?
no mistletoe here.
maybe next year?
5. when do you put your decorations up?
usually the weekend of thanksgiving.
we decorated over the whole next week this year due to lots of sickies :(
6. what is your favorite holiday dish?
love our traditional turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy.

loved our candlelight christmas eve service at church each year.
as we got older it was a mini high school reunion to look forward to!
another favorite memory is just spending each christmas day
with my mom and dad's families all together!

baking and decorating cookies with my cousins and my grandma every year!
we spent the whole day making and delivering the sugar cookies!
i could go on and on...
8. when and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
i honestly don't remember!
but i'm already getting questions from my kids...
9. do you open a gift on Christmas eve?
no, we usually do all of ours on christmas morning.
i give the kids new pj's before we decorate the tree instead of christmas eve.
10. how do you decorate your Christmas tree?
pretty simply!
i put burlap around the tree and my lighted twigs on top
but other than that we just let the kids put the ornaments on!
and each day more ornaments get moved to the top half of the tree
as my almost-nine-month-old and two-year-old undecorate for me :)
11. snow! love it or dread it?
love it!
still holding out hope for a white christmas.
12. can you ice skate?
um, not really.
i went skating in high school and college a couple times,
but it's not a pretty sight!
13. do you remember your favorite gift?
not really one in particular.
i do remember getting backpacks and a disney character one year,
telling us we were going on a disney cruise soon!
oh and there was that cool see-through swatch phone that i HAD to have.
remember those? anyone?
ok one more.
one year my dad went through all our junior high and high school
sports vhs tapes and converted them to dvd's for all of us!
i think he spent the entire year working on it. very cool!
and my mom always came up with the best fun gifts for us.
14. what's the most important thing about the holidays for you?
family!
and always remembering the real reason for the season.
i want the kids to enjoy and have fun with it
but we want to keep things simple and remember to give to others as well.

almost anything sweet!
i still need to decide what to bring this year.
